Biography

Pravin Krishna is the Chung Ju Yung Professor of International Economics at Johns Hopkins University, jointly appointed at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). His research interests lie in international economics, international political economy, political economy policy reform, and economic development in India. Krishna has published extensively in prestigious journals such as the American Economic Review and the Journal of Political Economy. In addition to his academic pursuits, he has served as a research associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and held faculty positions at several leading institutions including Brown University and the University of Chicago. He has also acted as a consultant for the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. Committed to education, Professor Krishna teaches courses that explore trade theory, policy issues, and the political economy of development within India's democratic context. He holds a BA in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and both an MA and PhD from Columbia University.
