Dr. Preeti Sivasankar

Biography

Preeti Sivasankar is a Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences at Purdue University. She also serves as the Vice President for Research Innovation in the Office of Research. With previous roles including Department Head and Assistant Vice President for Strategic Health Research, she holds a courtesy appointment in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and an adjunct appointment in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head Neck Surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Her research focuses on voice disorders and upper airway pathophysiology, supported by continuous funding from the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Sivasankar is an elected Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and an Associate Fellow of the American Laryngological Association. Her dedication to mentoring has been recognized with multiple teaching awards from Purdue University, including the Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Education and the Graduate Mentor Award. She is actively involved in leadership training programs and has contributed significantly to academic leadership within the Big Ten Alliance. Dr. Sivasankar earned her PhD from Northwestern University and is passionate about advancing research in her field.
