Biography

Prejaas Tewarie is a Clinical Neurophysiologist with a strong background in medicine and physics, having completed dual studies in these fields at VU University Amsterdam. He has actively engaged in research focusing on functional brain networks, particularly in relation to multiple sclerosis, and has contributed to the field of computational neuroscience through his PhD studies supervised by distinguished professors including Kees Stam and Chris Polman. Following his PhD, Prejaas held a postdoctoral position in the School of Physics at the University of Nottingham, where he explored novel methods for estimating time-varying functional brain networks. His specialty training in neurology began in 2017 at Amsterdam UMC, where he shifted his research interests towards traumatic brain injury. Currently, he works at the University of Twente, focusing on the predictive and prognostic capabilities of early EEG assessments in patients with severe traumatic brain injuries.
