Biography

Prince Michael Amegbor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Global and Environmental Health at the NYU School of Global Public Health. His research focuses on the environmental social determinants of health using a big data multi-methods approach. Amegbor specializes in visualizing the geospatial distribution of risks and burdens associated with environmental exposures, particularly in the contexts of climate change and air pollution. He investigates how these factors contribute to health inequalities, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa. His previous experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the Big Data Centre for Environment & Health at Aarhus University in Denmark and guest research at Statistics Denmark. He has led European Union Horizon 2020 Projects and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. Amegbor earned his PhD in human geography from Queen’s University, Ontario, and holds an MPhil in development geography from the University of Oslo, as well as a bachelor's degree in geography and resource development from the University of Ghana. Amegbor's academic work addresses critical public health concerns and aims to inform policies that mitigate health disparities linked to environmental changes.
