Biography

Priscilla Chiu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto. She completed her M.D. and Ph.D. at Queen’s University and went through comprehensive surgical internship at Toronto General Hospital in 1991, followed by additional training in the Gallie Program at the University of Toronto in 1992. Dr. Chiu received her certifications in General Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Surgery in 2002. She undertook pediatric critical care training and completed a pediatric surgery residency at the Hospital for Sick Children in 2005. Currently, Dr. Chiu is actively involved in pediatric chest surgery and serves as the general surgery representative for the Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia group and the Airway Reconstruction Team. She is also a scientist-track investigator at the Sick Kids Research Institute, where her research interests include lymphocyte developmental biology, leukemia, and lymphoma. Her recent publications have focused on basic science and clinical research concerning respiratory and malignant conditions.
