Dr. Priscilla Dannies

Biography

Priscilla Dannies is a Professor Emeritus at the Yale School of Medicine, specializing in Pharmacology. She completed her PhD at Brandeis University in 1971. Her research primarily focuses on endocrinology and the role of protein hormones in secretory granules, particularly through the development of model systems such as rat pituitary tumor cells. Through her work, she has developed methods to investigate the behavior of specific mutants of human prolactin and human growth hormones that affect their storage and stability. Professor Dannies aims to enhance the understanding of mechanisms underlying hormonal deficiencies by studying how certain mutants interfere with hormone synthesis and storage, which is essential for advancing the field of endocrinology. She has numerous publications and has collaborated with various researchers in her field. Her research interests also encompass the study of vasopressins and their mechanisms.
