Dr. Priya Mukherjee

Biography

Priya Mukherjee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research primarily focuses on Development Economics, with particular emphasis on Political Economy, Education, and Health. Mukherjee’s work has contributed to a deeper understanding of the interconnections between economic policy and social outcomes in developing contexts. She has also held positions as an Affiliate at the Center for Demography and Ecology and as a Research Fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics in Bonn, Germany. Through her teaching and research, she engages with students and scholars to further explore the challenges and solutions in these critical areas of economics. Mukherjee received her Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University, an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BA with honors in Mathematics from Delhi University. She is dedicated to mentoring students and guiding research initiatives in her field of expertise.
