Priyanka Baloni is an Assistant Professor in the School of Health Sciences and a member of the Purdue Institute for Integrative Neuroscience. She received her Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science, India, and completed her postdoctoral training at the Institute for Systems Biology (ISB) in Seattle, working under Drs. Leroy Hood and Nathan Price. Before joining Purdue University, she served as a Senior Research Scientist at ISB, where she led computational efforts in large, coordinated projects involving diverse research teams and heterogeneous experimental data types. Dr. Baloni has broad expertise in systems biology approaches, including omics analyses, genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, and proteomics. Her work has contributed to generating human brain region-specific metabolic networks and studying the metabolic alterations associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD). She is involved in identifying potential targets for AD under the NIH Accelerating Medicines Partnership – Alzheimer’s Disease (AMP-AD) program. Additionally, her research focuses on developing computational approaches to analyze multi-omics data to study gene-environment interactions and their effects on health-related outcomes. Dr. Baloni actively participates in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students and is open to collaborative research efforts.
