Biography

Purnamrita (Purna) Sarkar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics and Data Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. She specializes in machine learning and statistical modeling, with significant contributions to the fields of big data and data science. Purna completed her Ph.D. in Machine Learning at Carnegie Mellon University in 2010, where she developed innovative algorithms for data analysis and predictive modeling. Her research interests encompass statistical learning, big data analytics, and machine learning applications across various domains. She has authored numerous publications and is recognized for her expertise in developing strategies for efficient data processing and interpretation.
