Dr. Purnima Valdez

Biography

Purnima Valdez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Duke University, specializing in child neurology. She completed her medical degree at Northeastern Ohio University and undertook her residency at Maimonides Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at New York University. Dr. Valdez has a strong commitment to research and clinical excellence in pediatric care and has contributed significantly to understanding developmental disabilities in children. She has been awarded grants such as the North Carolina Pediatric Access Line project aimed at enhancing family outreach and support for intellectual developmental disabilities. Dr. Valdez has previously served as an Assistant Professor, showcasing her dedication to both education and professional practice in pediatrics.
