Biography

Qasim Zaffer is an Associate Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Karachi and completed his residency and fellowship training in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care in the United Kingdom. He has worked as an attending (consultant) emergency physician and operational EMS physician, and moved to the United States to complete his training in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2017, he relocated to Philadelphia and joined the University of Pennsylvania. His academic interests include advanced trauma, endovascular resuscitation, simulation, tactical EMS, and critical care transport.
