Biography

Qian Zhang earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Relations and Human Resources from the University of Toronto. He also holds a Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from the same institution. His work seeks to understand the design, evolution, and effectiveness of strategic human resource management systems in diverse contexts. He is particularly interested in investigating how sustainability influences organizations and their approaches to incorporate social resource management, digital transformation, and green corporate policy into human resource management practices. Zhang’s current research projects examine the strategic value-added relational perspectives of HRM systems. He focuses on how data-driven human resource initiatives can generate superior organizational performance while also benefiting employees.
