Biography

Qianqian Du joined the Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria in July 2022. Her research focuses on entrepreneurial finance, financial analysts, and corporate governance. She has investigated the organizational structures of venture capital investments, notably through syndication networks. One of her studies was included in the private equity report of the 2010 World Economic Forum in Davos. Furthermore, her research illustrates that financial analysts from similar cultural backgrounds tend to have improved forecasting performance. Her notable work has earned her recognition, including the CICF Paper Award and the TCFA Award for Corporate Finance in 2013. Currently, she is exploring the implications of extreme analyst forecasts and intends to expand her research to encompass environmental sustainability and machine learning within entrepreneurial finance. Prior to her role at the University of Victoria, Dr. Du held positions at the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance and the School of Accounting and Finance at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She has significant interdisciplinary teaching experience, having taught courses on entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial finance, corporate finance, and management accounting.
