Biography

Qianwen Xu received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2018. After completing his PhD, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Aalborg University in Denmark and as a visiting researcher at Imperial College London, UK. He held a Wallenberg-NTU Presidential Postdoc Fellowship at Nanyang Technological University from 2018 to 2020. Xu began as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2020 and is set to become a tenured Associate Professor in 2024. He is the director of the Intelligent Sustainable Grid Lab and co-director of the Dig-it Lab. His research interests focus on advanced control and optimization, artificial intelligence applications in power converter dominated grids, and microgrids. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed research papers, including 55 in IEEE Transactions and authored 15 IEEE Transactions papers, along with 2 book chapters. He has secured more than 20 research grants from various prestigious sources including the Swedish Research Council and EU Horizon.
