Biography

Qifa Zhou received a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electronic Materials and Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University in China in 1993. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the USC Keck School of Medicine and the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California. Dr. Zhou is a leading principal investigator at the NIH Resource Center for Medical Transducer Technology and has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Nature Medicine and Scientific Reports. He is a fellow of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). He serves on the Technical Program Committee for the IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium and is an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control. Dr. Zhou's research focuses on the development of high-frequency ultrasound transducers for biomedical imaging applications.
