Biography

Qin Yan is a Professor in the Department of Pathology at Yale School of Medicine and a member of the Yale Comprehensive Cancer Center, Yale Stem Cell Center, Yale Center for Immuno-Oncology, and the Yale Center for Research on Aging. His laboratory focuses on elucidating the roles of epigenetic mechanisms in tumor initiation and progression, aiming to translate these findings into clinical applications. He has made significant contributions to the understanding of KDM5 and its role in immune evasion and cancer metastasis. Dr. Yan completed his B.S. at the University of Science and Technology of China and obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He conducted postdoctoral training in cancer biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School under Nobel laureate Dr. William Kaelin. Dr. Yan has received numerous awards, including the ASIP Outstanding Investigator Award and the Era of Hope Scholar Award from the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program.
