Biography

Qing Wang received his B.S. in Materials Science Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology, an M.S. in Chemistry from Wuhan University, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Chicago. He was a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Materials Science Engineering at Cornell University from 2000 to 2002 and then joined Pennsylvania State University in 2002. His research focuses on developing multifunctional polymers and polymer nanocomposites for applications in energy storage and conversion. His laboratory employs chemical material engineering approaches to create novel functional polymers that exhibit unique physical properties, improving the fundamental understanding of polymers and polymer nanocomposites. His work spans various disciplines, including polymer materials chemistry, structural characterization, materials processing, and device engineering. He has received several awards, including the Rustum Della Roy Innovation Materials Research Award, the NSF CAREER Award, and the Penn State Faculty Scholar Medal. He actively collaborates with graduate students and faculty members across different fields at Penn State, emphasizing cross-disciplinary research.
