Biography

Qingsheng Wang is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University. He holds the George Armistead ’23 Faculty Fellow position and is also an affiliated faculty member in Industrial & Systems Engineering as well as Materials Science & Engineering. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University, obtained in 2010, as well as an M.S. in Physical Chemistry and a B.S. in Chemistry, both from Zhejiang University. Professor Wang's research focuses on process safety, with specific interests in energy safety related to carbon dioxide, liquefied natural gas, and hydrogen. Additionally, he conducts research on flame-retardant polymers, computational fluid dynamics, energy process systems, and artificial intelligence applications in safety. His contributions to the field have been recognized through numerous awards, including the Susan Howard Award from the U.S. Department of Labor in 2024 and the Fundamental Paper Award from the AIChE South Texas Section in 2022.
