Qingye Lu is a Full Professor in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Calgary. He obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemistry from Wuhan University, and his PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Alberta. His postdoctoral training was conducted at the University of Alberta in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering. Dr. Lu joined the University of Calgary in July 2016 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in July 2021, and to Full Professor in July 2025. His research focuses on colloids and interfacial science, biomimetic materials, and nanotechnology. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers in leading journals, such as Nature Reviews Chemistry and ACS Nano, and has been recognized as one of Stanford University's top 2% global scientists in recent years (2022, 2023, 2024). He has received several awards including the Schulich Early Career Research Excellence Award in 2020 and the Schulich Research Excellence Award in 2024.
