Biography

Qiqi Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in Computational Mathematical Engineering from Stanford University in 2009, with a minor in AeroAstro, an M.S. in the same field in 2008 from Stanford, and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2004. His research interests encompass engineering design, chaotic dynamical systems, unsteady aerodynamics, turbulence, numerical methods, exascale computation, and design optimization under uncertainty. Additionally, he teaches fluid dynamics, numerical analysis, and probabilistic methods. Wang has been recognized for his work with several awards, including the Grand Prize at the Stanford Computer Graphics Rendering Competition in 2007 and the SIAM Award for Academic Excellence in 2005. He is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Aircraft Owners Pilots Association, and Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and has previously worked as a Quantitative Analyst at Sigma Investments and as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University.
