Professor Dr. Quinn Albaugh

Biography

Quinn Albaugh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Studies at Queen's University. They hold a Ph.D. in Politics and Social Policy from Princeton University. Their research primarily focuses on parties, elections, and representation in Canada from a comparative perspective, with a particular emphasis on themes of gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, and class inequalities. Currently, they are working on a book project entitled 'Gatekeeping: Party Organizations Improve Representation of Marginalized Groups'. Their ongoing research involves LGBTQ+ politics, including studies on the representation of LGBTQ+ candidates, the political behavior of LGBTQ+ individuals, and the political attitudes of transgender and non-binary people. They actively supervise graduate students in related areas and have participated in various departmental committees. Their teaching covers a range of political studies courses.
