Biography

Dr. Qutaiba Tawfic has eight years of experience in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, with a special interest in pain management for sickle cell patients. He completed an Acute Pain Fellowship at the University of Ottawa followed by a Chronic Pain Fellowship at Western University. His background facilitated the establishment of a new Acute Pain Fellowship at the London Health Sciences Centre. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Acute Pain Fellowship and Coordinator for city-wide residents at the Acute Pain Service. He is actively involved in teaching within the Royal College Pain Residency Program. In collaboration with chronic pain physicians at St. Joseph's Health Care London, his practice encompasses pharmacotherapy and a variety of interventions for managing different pain syndromes. Dr. Tawfic's current research centers around neuropathic pain and a multimodal approach to preventing chronic post-surgical pain.
