Biography

R.M.J.P. Rikers is a full Professor at Utrecht University, specializing in Learning Instruction within the Department of Social Sciences. He has a Master’s degree in Cognitive Science from Radboud University and a Ph.D. in Medical Education from Maastricht University. With over 100 publications including articles, books, and book chapters, his research focuses primarily on (medical) education, problem-based learning, instructional design, particularly Cognitive Load Theory, and expertise development.
