Biography

R. Glen Uhrig is an Associate Professor at the University of Alberta with a focus on Plant Functional Genomics, Mass Spectrometry, and Quantitative Proteomics. He employs quantitative proteomics to study the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, aiming to understand how plants regulate cellular processes in response to light through anticipatory (circadian) and reactive (light responsive) mechanisms. His research is driven by the goal of identifying protein abundance changes and post-translational modifications (PTMs) that mediate diurnal regulation in plants. Uhrig's academic background includes a PhD from the University of Calgary and an MSc from Queen's University, and he has completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. His work has been recognized with several awards, including the Alberta Science Technology Award and the NSERC Post-Doctoral Award. R. Glen Uhrig's lab is dedicated to advancing the field of plant biology through innovative research and education.
