Professor Dr. R a Belderbos

Biography

R.A. Belderbos is a full professor of Strategy at KU Leuven (Belgium) and a part-time professor of International Corporate Strategy at Maastricht University, as well as a visiting adjunct professor at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, Japan. He holds a doctoral degree in economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research specializes in innovation strategies and international business strategies for multinational firms, as well as real option theory, location strategies, and global knowledge sourcing. He also explores top management teams' roles in internationalization, R&D collaboration, intellectual property rights, and knowledge spillovers. Professor Belderbos has published widely in leading economics and management journals such as the Strategic Management Journal, European Economic Review, and International Journal of Industrial Organization, and his work has received over 13,000 citations according to Stanford University's list of cited scholars in the business economics domain. He has served as an associate editor for the Global Strategy Journal, and as a consulting editor for the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS). He is also a consultant for various organizations, including the European Commission and the OECD.
