Biography

R. Peter Manes is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in Otolaryngology. He is dedicated to improving the lives of patients suffering from both benign and malignant nasal sinus disorders, employing minimally invasive techniques to minimize the impact on patients' lives. Dr. Manes received his MD from Albany Medical College and completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital, followed by a fellowship in rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. His clinical interests include allergic rhinitis, nasal obstruction, chronic sinusitis, and cerebrospinal fluid leaks, among others. Dr. Manes' research focuses on evaluating emerging technologies and novel methods for managing chronic rhinosinusitis. He plays a vital role in an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with neurosurgery specialists to treat patients with pituitary adenoma, which is a type of brain tumor. He is a board-certified surgeon and has been actively involved in professional organizations, contributing to the development of health policies in his field.
