Biography

Raaz Dwivedi joined the Department of Operations Research and Information Engineering and Cornell Tech at Cornell University as an Assistant Professor in January 2024. He previously visited Cornell ORIE in Fall 2023 and spent years as a FODSI postdoctoral fellow at Harvard and MIT's Laboratory of Information and Decision Systems. He completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley in 2021 and earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 2014. His research focuses on developing statistically and computationally efficient strategies for personalized decision-making, integrating ideas from causal inference, reinforcement learning, and distribution compression. Dwivedi has received notable accolades, including a student paper award for his work on optimal compression and teaching awards from both UC Berkeley and Harvard.
