Biography

Rachael Gribble is a Senior Lecturer in War and Psychiatry at the King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience. Her research focuses on various aspects of military and veteran health, including the psychological impact of military occupations and family dynamics within military contexts. Gribble is a key member of the Garnet Families Matter Research Group, which studies the experiences of military families, and regularly collaborates with international researchers to address issues affecting these families. Her methods include mixed qualitative and quantitative studies aimed at understanding the health ramifications of military service on families, particularly in terms of domestic violence, health outcomes, and the societal perceptions of military life. She has also contributed to a variety of significant projects, such as the UK Veterans Family Study, focusing on the health and wellbeing of veteran families and their children. Gribble teaches on the War and Psychiatry MSc program and supervises postgraduate research students interested in the intersections of military service and family health.
