Biography

Rachael M. Jones is a professor at UCLA's Fielding School of Public Health in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences. With extensive experience as an exposure scientist and industrial hygienist, her work primarily focuses on exposure modeling, simulation studies, experiments, and field sampling. Jones’ research has centered around assessing and controlling workplace exposures to infectious agents, particularly respiratory viruses. She is also investigating the impact of equity and inequity in occupational health and safety. In addition to her teaching, she serves as the Chief Editor for the Annals of Work Exposures and Health, a journal published by the British Occupational Hygiene Society. Currently, Jones is a member of the National Academies of Sciences Standing Committee on Personal Protective Equipment for Workplace Safety and Health. Her areas of research interest include exposure assessment in occupational and environmental settings, exposure modeling and data analysis, prevention of transmission of infectious diseases in workplaces, quantitative microbial risk assessment, and work equity.
