Biography

Rachel Sayko Adams is a Research Associate Professor at Boston University's School of Public Health, specializing in Health Law, Policy & Management. She holds a PhD in Social Policy from Brandeis University and has significant experience in health services research. Her work primarily focuses on studying substance use and disparities in treatment outcomes for high-risk populations, including military veterans and individuals with traumatic brain injuries. Adams has led research initiatives funded by various national health agencies, addressing critical issues such as addiction, suicide prevention, and health services for veterans. As a principal investigator, she oversees projects that explore the integration of data from the Department of Defense and Veterans Health Administration to enhance healthcare delivery and support for veterans. Additionally, she has closely collaborated with the Uniformed Services University on studies assessing healthcare utilization and readiness among soldiers post-deployment, and has contributed to research examining the intersection of addiction, disability, and service provision.
