Rachel Allen received her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the University of Washington, where she also earned the UW Foster School of Business Certificate in Pharmacy Management. Following her education, she completed a PGY1 residency at Bartell Drugs/University of Washington. Rachel transitioned into a Clinical Care Coordinator role at Bartell Drugs, focusing on the provision and management of clinical services, immunizations, medication therapy management (MTM), and disease state management. Her interest in teaching developed during her residency, leading her to academia where she has been instructing and coordinating the PY1 Pharmacy Practice Course series since 2009. Currently, Rachel serves as an Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy, co-course master of the PY1 Pharmacy Practice Course series, Director of the Community Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) Program, and Assistant Dean for Professional Affairs Practice. She is committed to curriculum development and enjoys mentoring students and educational assistants during skills lab teaching and outreach events. Outside of her professional life, Rachel enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with her husband Shawn and their children, Grayson and Ava.
