Biography

Rachel Beekman began her medical training in her home state of New York at Stony Brook University School of Medicine, later relocating to New Haven where she completed her neurology residency and neurocritical care fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital. She is passionate about treating survivors of cardiac arrest and is dedicated to building a multi-disciplinary cardiac arrest program. Outside of her professional life, Rachel enjoys spending time with her young boys and exploring the beautiful parks of Connecticut. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurocritical Care at Yale, she leads various research studies aimed at improving the outcomes for patients who have experienced cardiac arrest. Her research interests include brain death, out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, and post-cardiac arrest syndrome. Rachel is also actively involved in clinical trials focusing on brain oxygen optimization and recovery for patients with significant neurological injuries.
