Dr. Rachel Calogero

Biography

Rachel Calogero is a Full Professor in the Department of Psychology at Western University, a position she has held since October 2016. With a background in experimental applied social psychology and clinical training, she focuses on the intersection of social, applied, political, and clinical psychology in her research. She has worked at the Renfrew Center in Philadelphia, where she helped develop and implement programs aimed at facilitating the treatment of women with eating disorders. Her research interests include stigma, bodies, objectification, and resistance, which she explores through various lenses in her academic writing and teaching. As a recognized leader in her field, she serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Sex Roles and has held editorial positions for numerous other prominent psychology journals. Her scholarly contributions have been recognized by several professional organizations, including being named a Fellow of the American Psychological Association.
