Biography

Rachel Cichowski is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Political Science at the University of Washington, holding a joint appointment in the Department of Law, Societies & Justice. She is also an adjunct faculty member at the UW School of Law and involved with the Department of Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies, as well as the European Studies Faculty within the Jackson School of International Studies. Her publications include 'The European Court and Civil Society,' which received the American Political Science Association’s Book Award in 2008, and she has contributed to various journals including the Law & Society Review and Comparative Political Studies. Cichowski teaches a range of courses at both undergraduate and PhD levels, covering topics in comparative international law, human rights, and global women’s human rights policy.
