Dr. Rachel Dunifon

Biography

Rachel Dunifon is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Cornell University, where she has been a faculty member since 2001. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Davidson College and both an M.A. and Ph.D. in Human Development and Social Policy from Northwestern University. Dunifon completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan, which was supported by the National Institutes of Health. Her research focuses on child and family policy, particularly examining how policies, programs, and family settings influence the development of less-advantaged children. She is the co-director of Project 2GEN, which addresses the needs of vulnerable families using a two-generational approach. Dunifon has published extensively in top journals, including Child Development and Journal of Marriage and Family, and has received numerous grants from significant funding bodies, including the USDA and the William T. Grant Foundation.
