Biography

Rachel L. Flynn is an Associate Professor at Boston University’s Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biophysics. She obtained her PhD from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and her BS from Saint Michael's College. Dr. Flynn's research focuses on the mechanisms regulating mammalian telomere maintenance, particularly in relation to cancer progression and cellular aging. Through understanding the defects that contribute to premature aging and cancer, her work aims to identify potential therapeutic targets for human diseases. In addition to her research, she is heavily involved in mentoring graduate students and serves as Co-Director of the Genome Science Institute at Boston University.
