Rachel’s research explores climate change adaptation governance at national and international scales. She lectures in the Department of War Studies on the nexus of climate change and international relations and recently completed her PhD on climate change adaptation governance in the Department of Geography. Before her PhD, Rachel was the Coordinator of King’s Climate Hub and a Senior Climate Research Officer in King’s Climate Sustainability, where she led initiatives to develop a stronger interdisciplinary climate research community at the university. She has represented King’s delegations at United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) meetings and organized numerous training sessions and workshops to share knowledge about global climate negotiation processes. Prior to joining King's, Rachel earned a Master's in Environmental Policy from Sciences Po Paris, focusing on challenges in environmental governance, ranging from marine protection to decarbonization pathways. She previously worked with the Climate Group in New York, supporting clean energy transitions for the private sector and sub-national governments. Rachel has conducted field research on community-led conservation and ecosystem-based management in Brazil.
