Biography

Rachelle Ashcroft is an Associate Professor at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto, and is cross-appointed to the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, also at the University of Toronto. She joined the Factor-Inwentash Faculty in 2016, following her tenure as an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Work at Renison University College, University of Waterloo. Rachelle has over 14 years of experience in social work practice within healthcare settings, particularly in community organizations focused on HIV and mental health. Her research interests include the integration of organizational policy into team-based primary care delivery, patient-centred virtual care, and fostering interprofessional collaboration to enhance social work practices in primary healthcare environments. She is a core-funded investigator with INSPIRE-PHC and has served as a mentor in the TUTOR-PHC program, which aims to build interdisciplinary research capacity in primary healthcare across Canada. In 2019, she was Vice-President of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
