Professor Dr. Radu Cimpeanu

Biography

Radu Cimpeanu is an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick. His primary research interests lie in interface scientific computing, numerical solutions of partial differential equations, and modeling physical systems, with a strong focus on fluid mechanics and acoustics. He has worked extensively on methodologies to address technologically relevant problems in microfluidics, water retention on aircraft surfaces, and spray atomization in electrohydrodynamics. Dr. Cimpeanu is engaged in industrial mathematical modeling and has contributed to projects in computational acoustics, performance optimization of flow-related devices such as vacuum pumps, and pesticide sprays. He actively participates in Study Groups with Industry and events organized by the UK Fluids Network as a part of Special Interest Groups. His past experience includes being an Oxford Hooke Research Fellow from 2017 to 2019 and working at the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London from 2011 to 2017. Radu maintains active collaborations with both UK-based and international research groups.
