Dr. Radu Cimpeanu

Biography

Radu Cimpeanu currently serves as a Visiting Professor and Research Fellow at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. Previously, he held the position of Associate Professor at the Warwick Mathematics Institute. His research interests encompass the study of interfacial flows associated with asymptotic methods and multi-scale systems, with a strong focus on applied partial differential equations and computational fluid dynamics. He has developed methodologies aimed at addressing technologically relevant problems in microfluidics, water retention, and spray atomization in electrohydrodynamics. Professor Cimpeanu is actively involved in industrial mathematical modeling, contributing to projects related to computational acoustics and operational research for performance optimization in flow-related devices. His academic journey includes a research fellowship where he maintained an honorary research associate role in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London, engaging in co-supervision and outreach projects in Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Physics.
