Biography

Radu Marculescu is a Professor and the Laura Jennings Turner Chair in the Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 1998. His research focuses on developing new machine learning and artificial intelligence methods and tools for modeling, analysis, and optimization of embedded systems, cyber-physical systems, social networks, and the Internet of Things. Radu has received several prestigious awards, including the 2019 IEEE Computer Society Edward J. McCluskey Technical Achievement Award for his seminal contributions to network-on-chip design, analysis, and optimization, and the Donald O. Pederson Paper Award for his work published in IEEE Transactions. He has served as Editor-in-Chief of Foundations & Trends in Electronic Design Automation and holds fellowships from IEEE and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He is actively involved in organizing international conferences and serves as a distinguished speaker for ACM.
