Radu Grigore Zmeureanu is a Professor in the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering at Concordia University. He completed his engineering diploma in Building Service Systems from the Civil Engineering Institute of Bucharest, Romania, in 1990, and obtained his Ph.D. in Building Studies from Concordia University in 1997. He joined the university's faculty in 1990 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1999, later becoming a Full Professor. Dr. Zmeureanu is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and a Life Member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). His research interests include energy efficiency, sustainable building design, life cycle performance optimization of HVAC systems, and computer modeling of energy performance for buildings. Throughout his career, he has supervised numerous graduate students in Building Engineering and shared his expertise at various international conferences. His dedication to teaching is evident in his undergraduate and graduate courses focusing on sustainable development, thermodynamics, building energy conservation technologies, and numerical methods. He is actively engaged in research addressing challenges in the design and performance of energy-efficient buildings and contributing to the advancement of sustainable engineering practices.
