Biography

Raechel Portelli is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Science at the University of Illinois. She earned her PhD in Geography from Pennsylvania State University in 2014, where her dissertation focused on the role of cognition in forest disturbance characterization using remote sensing imagery. Prior to her doctoral studies, she obtained a Master of Science in Physical Geography and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography from the University of Idaho, along with a Bachelor of Environmental Science.
