Biography

Raffaella Carloni received her M.Sc. degree in electronic engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy, followed by a Ph.D. in the Department of Electronics, Computer Science and Systems, also at the University of Bologna. She served as an Assistant and later Associate Professor at the University of Twente, Enschede, Netherlands from 2008 to 2017. Since 2017, she has been a Professor of Robotics at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, where she leads the Human-Centered Robotics group at the Bernoulli Institute for Mathematics, Computer Science, and Artificial Intelligence. Her research interests encompass the design, modeling, and control of compliant robotic systems, the development of novel (soft) actuators, and innovations in prosthetic devices. Raffaella is dedicated to advancing the field of robotics through these cutting-edge research initiatives.
