Dr. Raffi Avedian

Biography

Raffi S. Avedian, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University, specializing in Musculoskeletal Tumor Surgery. Dr. Avedian completed his medical education at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 2002 and furthered his training with a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at UCSF, completing it in 2007. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has completed a fellowship at the University of Chicago, focusing on orthopedic oncology in 2008. His clinical focus encompasses pediatric tumors, bone and soft tissue sarcomas, pelvic tumors, and hip and knee reconstruction, thus significantly contributing to surgical techniques and outcomes in tumor surgery. He is actively involved in clinical trials investigating innovative treatment methodologies for managing soft tissue sarcoma wounds. Dr. Avedian is dedicated to teaching the next generation of orthopedic surgeons, offering courses throughout the academic year. He provides his patients with a comprehensive approach to care, advocating for the best possible outcomes in complex orthopedic cases.
