Biography

Raffi Gugasyan obtained his PhD from the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Melbourne and furthered his training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, USA. He is a nationally and internationally recognized researcher specializing in lymphocyte signaling circuitry that plays a crucial role in preventing chronic diseases such as autoimmunity and cancer. Currently, his research team is focused on developing novel diagnostic markers for these conditions. Since 2009, he has served as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Immunology at Monash University in Victoria, Australia. In addition to his university position, he holds an honorary research associate role at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research and has been a Senior Research Fellow at the Burnet Institute since April 2008.
