Biography

Raghupathy Sivakumar grew up in Chennai, India, where he attended the College of Engineering - Guindy, Anna University, earning a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science in 1996. He moved to Champaign, Illinois, to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in 1998 and 2000, respectively. In August 2000, he joined the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech as an Assistant Professor and has since risen to an endowed chair professor. His research interests include Computer Networks, Wireless Networks, Mobile Computing, and Entrepreneurship. He has received several awards for his contributions to pedagogy and research, including the Curriculum Innovation Award and the ECE Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award. He is a Fellow of IEEE, recognized for significant contributions to the design of algorithms and protocols for wireless networking and mobile computing.
