Biography

Raghuram V. Pucha is a Principal Lecturer at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. He earned his PhD from the Indian Institute of Science in 1995 and has held post-doctoral research positions at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and Purdue University. Since joining Georgia Tech in 2000, his research has concentrated on developing computational tools for the design, analysis, and manufacturing of composite materials. His significant contributions include developing special purpose finite elements for delamination failure analysis in fiber-reinforced laminated composites and conducting microstructure simulations for impact damage analysis. Dr. Pucha teaches courses in computer graphics, CAD/CAE design, and is focused on integrating advanced tools into the research and manufacturing processes of nanocomposites for structural and electronics applications. His current research efforts aim to develop integrated computational tools that comprehensively assess manufacturing parameters and optimize the properties of nanocomposites.
