Biography

Ragnhild Nordås is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Michigan, where she also serves as a faculty affiliate in the International Comparative Studies program and a faculty associate at the Center for Political Studies within the Institute for Social Research. Her primary research focuses on political violence and repression, with current projects investigating the causes and impacts of sexual violence, including public perceptions of such acts. Nordås is a senior researcher at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) and is involved in the co-creation of the global Sexual Violence in Armed Conflict (SVAC) dataset. She has a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, completed in 2010, and previously earned a Master of Arts in the same field from the same institution in 2004. Her academic interests encompass fields such as World Politics, International Relations, Comparative Politics, and Peace Conflict Studies.
