Dr. Rahim Nazerali

Biography

Rahim Nazerali specializes in complex reconstruction, microsurgery, and aesthetic cosmetic surgery, particularly breast reconstruction using free autologous tissue techniques. He employs advanced minimally invasive methods such as the superficial inferior epigastric artery (SIEA) and deep inferior epigastric artery perforator (DIEP) flap procedures. In addition to autologous reconstruction, he is knowledgeable in the latest implant-based breast reconstruction techniques. Nazerali is recognized as a leading instructor and lecturer at various national and international conferences. His clinical practice includes aesthetic procedures such as breast augmentation and body contouring, as well as reconstructive work focusing on abdominal wall reconstruction post-trauma. Nazerali is actively engaged in research related to breast reconstruction outcomes and has published over 100 journal articles and conference proceedings. His work addresses critical topics including the effects of radiation on breast reconstruction, advances in surgical techniques, and the integration of virtual and augmented reality in surgical education and practice. He is a dedicated member of the Medical Executive Council at Stanford Healthcare and contributes to professional committees in plastic surgery. In his spare time, he volunteers worldwide providing reconstructive surgical services to both adults and children.
